Mt. Gangapurna (7455m/24,457ft) is situated in the Annapurna Himalayan range at the Coordinates of 28°36'18''N Latitude and 83°57'00''E Longitude. The Gangapurna expedition became popular when Gunther Hauser (German expedition team) summitted the peak in 1965via the East Ridge. Gangapurna peak is located between Annapurna III and Tilocho Peak. It is Northeast of Mt. Annapurna at the opposite end of Grand Barrier to Tilicho Peak on the shoulder extending about 10-12km from Annapurna directly east of ROC Noir. Mt. Gangapurna is one of the best mountains to climb in Nepal and is excellent preparation for future 8000m expeditions.
