Kathmandu is known as the city of temples and rightly so because there are hundreds of Hindu temples and Buddhist monasteries. Historically, culturally and religiously significant places are the main attractions of the valley. The pivot of tourist attractions, Kathmandu alone has 7 world heritage sites. They are: Pashuaptinath (The greatest Hindus Temple), Boudhanath (one of the largest Stupas in the world), Swoyambhunath (known as the temple of monkeys), Kathmandu Durbar Square (The place where the living Godess ‘Kumari’ still exits), Patan Durbar Square (The place rich in architectural heritage), Bhaktapur Durbar Square (a site of antique culture), and Changu Narayan (the entry point of modern Nepal). Satori's Professional Kathmandu City tour guide will help you getting all the Tour Information on your Luxury Package.
Pashupatinath TemplePashupatinath Temple is the largest and holiest Hindu Temple which lies in the east of Kathmandu City. Pashupatinath is the most important temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. Every year this temple attracts thousands of Hindus. Situated amidst a lush green natural setting on the bank of the sacred Bagmati River, the temple is built in the Pagoda style. The aesthetically carved silver doors and the gilded roofs with the golden pinnacles on top give this holy site a stunning look. The main temple is for Hindus only though, everyone can roam around the temple premises. The river bank is one of the holiest cremation sites for the Hindus as well.
BoudhanathProbably built in the 14th century, Boudhanath, one of the holiest Buddhist temples, is the largest Stupa in Nepal. The Stupa lies in the eastern outskirts of Kathmandu, eight kilometers east of the downtown. It stands with four pairs of eyes in the four cardinal direction keeping watch for righteous behavior and human prosperity. From above the Boudhanath Stupa looks like a Giant Mandala, diagram of the Buddhist cosmos.
SwyambhuNathOne of the most popular Buddhist Stupas in Nepal, the Swyambhunath is located on top of a hill to the west of Kathmandu. Also known as the Monkey Temple, the Swayambhunath is the most ancient of all the holy shrines in Kathmandu valley. Historical records found on a stone inscription give evidence that the Stupa was already an important Buddhist pilgrimage destination by the 5th century AD. Its origins however, date to a much earlier time, long before the arrival of Buddhism into the valley.
Kathmandu Durbar SquareKathmandu Durbar Square that lies in the heart of the capital city in Basantapur refers to Nepal’s royal palaces of the past. Temples, idols, statues, open courts and fountains along with other structures form part of Durbar Square. It is also known as Basantapur Durbar Square and Hanuman Dhoka Durbar Square. Once the residence of the then Royal family of Nepal, this Durbar Square staged all coronation ceremonies. The temples representing Hindu and Buddhist faiths are constructed in Pagoda style. The architecture of temples around the Square is both antique and aesthetic.

We advise them to make sure about these formalities because there are some companies in Nepal that have been running business without abiding by the rules and regulation of the Government. Some companies were once registered but by now their licenses have already been expired and yet they have providing the services illegally.
On many occasions, Government of Nepal and Trekking Agency Association of Nepal have found that many foreigners’ tour operators, NGOs and INGOs have been involved in directly operating tours, trekking, and mountaineering holiday adventures without having government license and abiding by the Government rules. It has been also found that many individuals, freelance guides and porters have been arranging trips illegally by creating their own personal website. We have observed that many trekkers and climbers face a host of problems once they arrive in Kathmandu as they lack adequate information. Many of them file complaints to Government of Nepal and Trekking Agency Association of Nepal for legal action such as the refund of the advanced payment.
