When can I travel to Nepal? This is the major question of Nepal traveler. According to the notice published by the Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Civil aviation, International borders will re-open for passenger traffic from mid of August or beginning of September 2020. International airlines will be allowed to operate their scheduled commercial flights to Kathmandu then.
As the situation in Nepal stabilizes like today – fewer cases reporting each day and rate of recovery expedite – Nepal will open all her tourist attractions for the season of autumn 2020. And, yes you can do tours, go for a trekking/ hiking and climb your favorite mountain of the Himalayas.
Earlier the Government of Nepal and Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation formed a committee on the 29th of June 2020 headed by Joint Secretary of the Ministry Buddhisagar Lamichhane to make some recommendations regarding the re-opening of tourism services. His committee suggested on 16th July 2020 that Nepal can start domestic flights from the 5th of August, 2020 and international flights from 17th August 2020 strictly following safety protocols published by the WHO and Nepal government.
